A Bionic Aside

Funky Folks a small light turned on in my brain this morning making the moment jaw dropping and so, so funky. I was up in a flash wanting to record this thought.

Heavens I realized that I spent so much time concentrating on hearing and processing sound that by the time the aural waves reached the shore and left their bits of flotsam strewn along the beach, the next wave was on it’s way. Waves kept coming.

By the time I wanted to open my mouth and utter some profound words in response the receding wave disappeared under the oncoming constant swoosh up the shore.

I was left speechless but in the tide of time patterns change, improve and advance as has the quality of our lives through bionic achievements.

Hearing was not to be denied in this advance. You see Funky Folks in a short time, less than than nine years ago when I bought some new hearing aids bionic technology has changed the sound of music, conversations and babble in crowds.

My new hearing aids are Bluetooth enabled, come with a rechargeable batteries, have individualized programs for different situations. For example I can listen to the telly as loud as I like and Lili who is working a short distance away is oblivious to the noise which is streamed through the hearing aid and into my brain. I love the fact that phone calls are directed through these hearing aids which means never having to say, “Sorry…I missed that.”

Clarity has erased the effort of concentrating so hard on processing sound, making those aural waves intelligible, welcome and responsive.

Life is switched on.
