Le Monde Est Stone/The World Is Stone

Funky Folks this song and the lyrics snuck into the playlist of my morning musings. I sat up and said, “Hello, What’s this then? I had never heard of it, My Old Memory canna recall. Archived maybe? It is what happens when the playlist is on ‘Shuffle’ where you haven’t a clue of what’s next in store.

The first thing I bump into in Wikipedia is that “Le Monde Est Stone” is one song in “Starmania”, a French musical and when I saw that Tim Rice wrote the the English lyrics for “The World is Stone” I sat bolt upright.

Starmania is a Canadian-French rock opera. It debuted in 1978 with a studio recording of the songs, before premiering on stage in 1979 on Paris. it is now considered one of the most famous rock operas in French history.

Me thinks Funky Folks these songs address many issues; climate chaos, poverty, social disorder, pollution and waste..Now the virus. What say you?
