Good morning Funky Folks. Me thinks it’s time for some explanation regarding the naming of one’s child. Names are based on cultures, events surrounding the birth, emotional and other influences such as the alignment of the planets.

Now Funky Folks when it came to christening this blog I rolled with the events surrounding the fused name. It was as if the Genie had escaped from the kettle and in a cloud of steam announced, “Ouch! This is the way forward fellow”.

Firstly I picked up Malcolm Gladstone’s “Talking to Strangers”. It was on loan from Brisbane’s Public Library. Meg and Greg were visiting. Out of curiosity I checked availability of the audiobook at Toronto’s Public Library. I was politely informed that it was over a six month wait. I took a deep breath and pressed the borrow key.

I did this because the book begins with Sandra Bland’s tragic story. The internet uncovers all the details of this event. In all of it there was one piece of information that intrigued me. She had a blog from which she communicated with her audience by video. Each one began with a, “Good morning My King’s and Queen’s…

The other event concerned a shaker on the dining room table. It stood out because of it’s unusual color and name. The label read “Funky Ouma”. It contained beetroot red salts and was a gift from a friend Fish Tale.

“Now with Sandra Bland’s King’s and Queen’s and Funky Ouma both shaking loud and a blog looking for a name…when this popped up… “Hell you Talmbout” is a song in the audiobook. “Talmbout” I found out means ‘talking about’

Hell I talmbout my child’s name…”For Funky Folks Out There”.

Note: Please check your junk and trash boxes for said talmbout and take the appropriate action.
