This bubble idea and this question descend from the ever popular self-help book by Richard Bolles “What colour is your parachute”.
Remember how much fun kids had blowing ‘n chasing bubbles or looking in awe at a stream of them spewing from the bubble machine. Then the bubbles were gone, then there were more. The bubbles got bigger and bigger,
In this pandemic world the word bubble takes on a whole new meaning and responsibility, far from the fun we knew. Bubbles are symbolic of a protective shield to keep marauders out. It’s the behaviour of others that forces us to retreat into our very own bubble. Us, the folks who have heard the stories, seen the data and sought safety and Them, the folks who live and let die, oblivious, careless and free of restraint.
Well Funky Folks once you have your protective shield around you some maintenance is necessary. This is a bit like checking the temperature of the bubble you’re in and while you’re at it check the pressure. There ain’t nuttin’ worse than a flat. You want your bubble to stand proud – well float that is. Do whatever floats your bubble Funky Folks.
Fortunately there are measures available to assist you with this decision.
Rainbow colour codes exist for your bubbles Funky Folks. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet.. but by mixing colours you could be unique and you are and it is your actions or inactions that determines your bubble hue.
To simplify things a bit Red, Orange, Green work equally well for our self-help journey.
Soooo! What colour is your bubble?
Firstly we decide to move into a bubble to justify other peoples behaviour..but it’s far more about protecting ourselves. Don’t you think it would be beautiful if we could colour our bubble to protect and love ourselves? Because to color it to benefit or justify someone else sooner or later it will let us fall apart and we will definitely regret we did not clear up the crystal we were looking through.
If you see a Green bubble close by it’s OK to wave hi and smile only if your bubble is Green too. Give a toothy grin in acknowledgement. It’s a no worries bubble. All greens, the Us’s should float far from the maddening crowd as the best way to isolate from Them party folks.
If an Orange approaches you do you stop or go? This is a sign of caution. Things could change in an instant. It signals asymptomatic folks are advancing spewing out gobs of invisible stuff like those bubble machines. Get the hell away from here Funky Folks.
Now if it’s a Red approaching Them livin’ the social scene and undoubtedly be spreaders. Now if Us don’t appear to sympathise with Them’s anxiety it’s ‘cos Us’ive seen enough of these four walls to last for many a day. and Us mean to say we have our own anxiety to weigh us down.
